Introducing “Transversal” – A Groundbreaking Compilation Album Uplifting Trans and Non-Binary Artists
ParaLuna Records is thrilled to announce the release of “Transversal,” a powerful compilation album that celebrates the voices of trans and non-binary artists while raising funds for the Martha P. Johnson Institute’s Starship Fellowship. This unique project is the result of a collaborative effort spearheaded by DJ Marionette, Tess LaCoell, and Vinnie Saletto. “Transversal” features an extraordinary lineup of musicians, including Drum n Bass pioneer Jordana, as well as Tears for the Dying, Dea Decay, ghostromper, Valor 13, Hyperestis, DJ Marionette, and Tess LaCoell herself. Each track on the album showcases the diverse talents and distinct styles of these transgender artists, weaving a rich tapestry of sound that ranges from industrial to metal to electronic. The album cover, designed by the brilliant non-binary artist Xypher Nym, perfectly encapsulates the dual themes of mathematics and the “trans-universe,” providing a visual representation of the album’s depth and creativity. The proceeds from “Transversal” will support the Martha P. Johnson Institute’s Starship Fellowship, which empowers Black trans creatives by providing resources to mitigate the impact of transphobia in artistic spaces. This cause is particularly meaningful to Tess LaCoell, who was inspired by her trans sister, Jordana, a trailblazer who faced significant challenges in her career. “I am honored and frankly a bit verklempt to have Jordana on this compilation,” said Tess LaCoell. “This album is not just about music; it’s about creating a community within a community and helping the most vulnerable among us.” “Transversal” is now available on BandCamp for purchase and streaming, with other platforms following suit. Join us in celebrating this labor of love and supporting a cause that aims to uplift and empower trans and non-binary artists. *For more information, please contact:* paralunarecords@gmail.com *About ParaLuna Records:* ParaLuna Records is a small record label dedicated to raising funds for community and charity causes through the power of music.
